Fund of Funds
The Fund of Funds (FoFs) add-in component models partnerships that commit to underlying funds. Typically used by FoFs and families that invest in third-party funds, this functionality is also quite popular for modeling GP Pools.
At the Core
- Fund and Direct Investments. Models commitments to third-party funds, and supports direct or co-investments in portfolio company securities.
- Underlying Capital Accounts. Tracks the activity of your related partnerships (e.g., fees, calls paid and distributions received) so you can recreate your capital accounts in those funds.
- GP Pools. Consolidates your general partners’ capital accounts into a single GP Pool, which in turn makes the GP commitment to each of your active funds. This technique simplifies year-end tax accounting by reducing the overall number of GP capital accounts and K-1s to be issued.
Taking You to the Next Level
- Performance Analytics on Underlying Funds, including Waterfall Obligations. Provides over 20 reports to gauge the performance of underlying funds (e.g., IRRs, Multiples, Waterfall Obligations).
- Consolidated Portfolio Company Holdings. Merges assets across common portfolio companies held by your underlying funds (e.g., Fund 1, 2 & 3 own Preferred A shares in ABC Company).
- Multiple Valuations. Tracks every underlying partnership’s valuation of a portfolio company security or allows you to override them with your own value.
